2016 Field Day with the RACC

Members of the Radio Amateurs of Cass County started gathering at the Hall-Miller Airport in Atlanta, Texas for the annual ARRL Field Day at 9:30am on Saturday, June 25, 2016. They selected the open grassy area on the right just after entering the gate leading into the airport where an open hangar recently stood.

The club operated using the club call sign with the designation 4A in the North Texas (NTX) section.  The club operated from Saturday at 1300 CDT until lightning came in to the area at approximately 1000 CDT on Sunday.  137 contacts were logged. Bobby WB5OSD logged 78 CW contacts, and the other stations accumulated 59 phone contacts.

Fly-In at the Atlanta Airport May 21

Our next club meeting is on May 21, 2016.  The meeting starts at 9:00am, but get there at 8:30am and have a sausage and pancake breakfast with us.

The exciting news is the Fly-In that will be held at the airport on the same day!  We will deviate from our normal meeting format in that we won't have a special program.  We will get together for breakfast, discuss our normal club business, then adjourn to help the airport folks with the Fly-In.

You'll want to show up for the meeting even if you can't stay for the Fly-In.  We'll be electing our new club vice-president and we'll still have our MONTHLY DRAWING!
