RACC Meeting Minutes
May 21, 2016

1. WELCOME AND OPENING PRAYER

President Jerry Goodson W5BFF opened the meeting by welcoming members and guests.  The meeting had more attendees than chairs available, and due to the short time available for the meeting, the round-robin introductions were skipped.

Chaplain Roger Fouse KB5ROD offered our opening prayer.

$118.32 in the breakfast fund

The April Meeting Minutes were read by Jerry W5BFF.

The new RACC website is online at raccradio.org.  Testing is complete, and functionality is satisfactory.  This month's newsletter was sent out using the site, and the newsletters and meeting minutes are automatically archived on the new website.

Jerry Goodson W5BFF is now an ARRL VE and testing will be available after each club meeting again.

4. NEW BUSINESS

Elections for the Club Vice President:  Paul James KG5JTC and Ralf Vopel KF5WGB are the two candidates, so election will be by paper ballot.

Paul James was elected Vice President to finish the current term.

5. ACTIVITIES COMMITTEE REPORT

No report was given

6. REPEATER REPORT

Jim Collom N5YU started by thanking Pete Wright, Operations Manager at Northeast Texas Municipal Water District for making the new repeater, 145.470MHz (-) 136.5Hz that allows coverage for the Lake O' The Pines area.  On Tuesday, the Karnack repeater took a lightning strike, and the bridge rectifier was replaced.  The Longview 146.640MHz repeater was giving trouble after being sent to battery back-up power due to bad Ni-Cd battery cells.  Those cells replaced with lead-acid batteries. Jim N5YU expressed gratitude for help from Jim Rogers N5VGQ in Longview for his tremendous help with the repeaters.

A Motorola MTR-2000 UHF repeater is in the rack on Cussetta Mountain.  Audio adjustments need to be made before the MTR-2000 will replace the current repeater system in place.
